The NHS Long Term Workforce Plan, which outlined the long-term strategy for our NHS through a sustainable manner while also enhancing patient care, was released earlier this year. This report is especially meaningful because the NHS turned 75 years.

Over the course of those 75 years, we have overcome obstacles like the lack of a  workforce to meet the needs of a population coping with the aftereffects of the war, poverty, and diseases that science had not yet discovered, to the present day, when in 2023 we will have an increase in the number of doctors, nurses, therapists, and scientists. Each of these provides an enormous amount of excellent attention to our patients.

The main priorities are keeping our excellent and diverse existing workforce and maximising the use of new technology along with the largest recruitment drive in the history of our health service.
