Have Your Say: Complete the National Education and Training Survey (NETS)!
NHS England is committed to enhancing the quality of education and training for over 250,000 learners and trainees across a variety of clinical roles in the NHS. To support continuous improvement, we conduct the National Education and Training Survey (NETS) each year, offering a platform for healthcare learners and trainees to share their experiences and shape the future of healthcare education.
Since 2019, NETS has been the only national survey open to all healthcare students, trainees, and apprentices, including resident doctors and dentists in postgraduate training.
The survey covers key themes like induction, clinical supervision, facilities, learning opportunities, and teamwork.
Your feedback helps us make informed decisions to enhance learning environments, support retention and recruitment.
Take 10 minutes to share your experiences! The survey is open from 1 October to 26 November 2024.

The National Educational Training Survey 2024 is a NHSE (formally HEE) run survey for all learners across all professions whose training is commissioned by NHSE. This includes not only doctors in training but also student doctors nurses, midwives, allied Health professionals and clinical scientists. It give a 'whole system view' of the environment in which you train.
I already complete the GMC NETS survey, why should I complete this survey?
The GMC NETS survey is a valuable tool that only looks at Postgraduate Medical Training in isolation. It helps in quality assuring your training at a local and system wide level. As doctors, we do not work in isolation but as part of a multi-professional team, your input into the the working and learning culture as medical leaders is important in ensuring that those around you are as well supported and supervised as you are. NETS helps drive quality improvement for you, your fellow healthcare workers and, importantly, patients.
How will I receive information on how to complete NETS 2024?
You will receive further information via email from NHSE and other communications about the survey.
Do I have to complete the NETS?
No, it is voluntary. Completing the survey helps NHSE argue for the resources to support training. Have your say making a difference by completing the survey.
