About us

Working across the East Midlands, NHS England, Workforce, Training & Education is responsible for the management and coordination of the delivery and funding of the postgraduate education for doctors and dentists in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland. We cover all 15 NHS Trusts and over 250 GP practices in the region, as well as holding strong links with the Universities, this enables us to work in partnership and ensure the workforce is of the highest quality for the patients, carers and families as well as developing and maintaining the future workforce to be highly trained and motivated to deliver a first class modern health service for the East Midlands.

We base ourselves on the values set out in the NHS Constitution and ensure we are patient focused in all decisions. We are led by the providers that we aim to serve. We engage with our partners and patients in our region to enable the local health Trusts and GP practices to have the right workforce today and tomorrow with the right number of staff, skills, values and behaviours.
