High quality, one-to-one training in a small and friendly department

You will join one of two training carousels, one based at the Nottingham Regional Clinical Genetics Service at the Nottingham City Hospital and one at the Leicester Regional Genetics Service at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. This approach means you benefit from stability in terms of where you're located while retaining excellent opportunities to gain sub-speciality experience alongside different consultants based in the other centre.

Our consultants specialise in a wide variety of areas and this means you will have lots of opportunities to go through unusual and interesting cases on a one-to-one basis. And, you will be able to cherry pick the patients that you see in order to get a broad range of experience.

When you train in the East Midlands you will have access to specialised clinics including:

  • National Paediatric Ataxia-Telangiectasia Clinic
