Foundation ARCPs

Each summer the LNR and Trent foundation schools will be running ARCPs for all foundation doctors; the ARCP panel will be convened at your hospital base and will make a recommendation to the Associate Foundation School Director about your progression to the next phase of training (i.e. F1s – progression to F2 training; F2s – progression to Specialty Training).

Further details about the ARCP process will be provided to you in due course; in the meantime please remember to maintain your e-Portfolio.

Full GMC Registration

All F2 doctors must hold full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC in order to train as an F2, failure to obtain full GMC registration will result in a delay to the start your F2 training. See below for further information about full GMC registration.

F1 ARCPs

F1 ARCPs

Completion of your F1 year is marked by the completion of a AF1C form. This is done on a local level with your Foundation Training Programme Director and is then sent to the Foundation School Director for final review.

It is the trainee's responsibility to ensure they have electronically signed their Outcome 1 on their ePortfolio in order for the AF1C form to be generated, signed and released. The AF1C will be needed as evidence of completion of the F1 programme which is necessary for the award of full GMC registration.

F2 ARCPs

Completion of your F2 year is marked by the completion of an FACD certificate. This is done on a local level with your Foundation Training Programme Director and is then sent to the Foundation School Director for final review.

It is the trainee's responsibility to ensure they have electronically signed their Outcome 6 on their ePortfolio in order for the FACD certificate to be generated, signed and released. The FACD will be needed as evidence of completion of the F2 competencies to commence specialty/GP training.
