Why should I get involved in medical education?
Medical education offers so much scope for innovation, creativity and development (of yourself and those around you). Currently this includes developing Simulated Learning for postgraduate and undergraduate students in partnership with South London and Maudsley (SLaM).
What are the available opportunities in medical education and how could I get access to them?
As a Higher Trainee, we will be offering certificated special interest sessions with funded opportunities to develop as an educator (expressions of interest and interviews from April 2018, for August 2018 start). These opportunities will be attached to the clinical and pre-clinical Undergraduate Medical Student Programme. They are a great way to build educational experience that could lead on to a career that includes either Undergraduate or Postgraduate education.
Where could I get more information about this and whom to contact?
Contact me directly Neil.Nixon@nottshc.nhs.uk or Elaine Hayes in the Medical Education Department elaine.hayes@nottshc.nhs.uk
